Questions, issues, or feedback about JCLiveCut? Here's how to reach us and the answers to the most common questions.
Getting started
Install JCLiveCut from Google Play and sign in with your Google account. The first time you start a recording, Android asks you to allow screen capture for that session — you must accept for the recording to begin.
Pick the audio mode you want (system audio, microphone, both, or silent) before you tap record. You can choose full-screen or region capture.
Recording with audio
JCLiveCut can capture audio from the microphone, from the system playback (other apps), or from both mixed together. You can also record silently.
If audio modes are missing, check Settings → Apps → JCLiveCut → Permissions → Microphone is set to "Allowed".
Region recording
Region recording lets you choose a specific area of the screen instead of capturing the full display.
It requires the "Display over other apps" permission. If the overlay doesn't appear, enable it under Settings → Apps → JCLiveCut → Display over other apps.
Connecting Google Drive
Drive backup is optional. Connect Drive from inside the App's Settings; JCLiveCut requests only the DRIVE_FILE scope, which lets the App upload to your Drive but cannot read any other file in your Drive.
Disconnecting Drive in the App settings stops further uploads. Files already uploaded remain in your Drive — manage them from your Drive directly.
Subscription and billing
Subscriptions are handled by Google Play. To view or cancel a subscription, open the Play Store → Account → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
Refunds are processed by Google. For purchases outside Google's standard refund window, email us — we'll review each case.
Deleting your account and data
Because JCLiveCut does not maintain a developer-owned backend that holds your data, deleting your data means: (a) deleting the recordings inside the App, (b) signing out of the App, (c) optionally uninstalling the App and clearing its data from Settings → Apps → JCLiveCut → Storage → Clear data.
If you also want to revoke the App's access to your Google account, do it from https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Troubleshooting
Recording doesn't start: make sure you accepted the Android "Start recording" system dialog. It appears every session — it cannot be auto-approved.
No audio in the recording: check microphone permission and the selected audio mode. On some devices, "system audio" may not be available because of the OEM's policy.
Drive upload stuck: check your network and that Drive is still connected in the App settings. Uploads run in a foreground service with a notification — tap the notification to see status.
